She's an International Art Educator! :)

Since we last "spoke"  I had a whirl-wind trip to the beautiful city of Montreal to teach a 3 day weekend workshop at Scrapbook Centrale.

This was my first international adventure teaching and I couldn't have asked for a better group of warm and friendly, not to mention hugely talented students to work with.  The owner of Scrapbook Centrale,  Natalie,  along with her right hand artist extraordinaire, Gisele, were all so wonderful and fun to work with! I had a great time and am  so happy to consider them my new friends:)

I came back home floating on cloud nine and with paint embedded in my hands like no tomorrow.  It was a good time all around! :)

Here's a little photo montage of just some of our highlights.  Thank you all from Scrapbook Centrale for the memories and hospitality. It was an honor to be working with you!!

If you haven't been able to take a class with me in person, be sure to check out my schedule for 2016--I have lots of dates already posted and have a couple more venues to add on. Hopefully we can connect in the New YEAR!!

Not everyone has time for a full online or in person workshop, these new DVD's are the perfect alternative for you!  Each of my four new dvds are jam packed with over an hour plus of content!   PS...they are all on sale for the next few days!!!

As we begin this week of Thanksgiving many of you will be traveling to see family and friends, please be safe in your journey and enjoy every minute of your time with loved ones!

Happy Almost Turkey Day!

Until we meet again!

Deals, Deadlines and News Part 1!

As per my usual MO lately, I have more on my check list than can humanly be finished in 3 months but I try to pack it in a week or two's time!  Is anyone else like that or am I the only crazy person here?!!!  Well I figured I'd update my bloggedy and Newsletter family/friends/fans in small chunks with all the big news of the last month and upcoming months in my mini series (haha):

Deals, Deadlines, and News!!!

Okey dokey...so my first dealio has to do with my NEW online class. Oh my guys. I have been blown away by the response to it. It has fast become one of my best selling online classes and it just opened today!! whooohooo!       Because of that response and because I didn't get to advertise it on my newsletter just yet, we are extending the early bird price through Sunday, 9/14/14  (which is also my big baby boys 20th Birthday...Happy almost Birthday, Zach!!!!!)

What are we going to be doing in Grunge Ink?  Well, first off we learn about some super cool shizzle we can do with the Inks, Fluid Acrylics, High Flow Acrylics, and Yupo paper; then we move on to several additional and more complex combinations of layers before moving onto 5 process demonstrations where you see how to create some cool bean paintings from start to finish using this "Grunge Ink" process.  Including this final piece here (a sneak peek).

I'm already thinking about a part 2 to this class so get in now, learn the techniques and then we can move on to an intermediate class and make even BIGGER and crazier grungy paintings!! ;)

Access to the class: Open ended and ongoing, no closing date scheduled for this class so as long as Icreateflix will host the class, it will be open for your viewing pleasure. Actual time it will take to work through the class? I suggest taking 3-4 weeks but you can work at your own pace/faster/slower whatever floats your boat.

My interaction:  I try to be ACTIVELY involved with all my classes the first 6 weeks on a frequent basis and then after that on an as needed, so if you need help and sign up 3 months after the class opens, no worries, I will still be there to guide you :))

Price--super duper reasonable,  85.00 is the regular price for a HUGE amount of video demonstrations and discussions (21 in all) and approx 4 hours of footage and 5...yes 5 main projects (you may want to get several pads of the Yupo paper and even perhaps one or two of their big daddy sheets as this process is addictive!!!

SALE price:  70.00.  Don't delay though, that price ends this weekend!  9/14/14.   I strive to keep my prices affordable but to be honest, I am going to have to raise them slightly in the new year, so get in NOW at the lowest price it will be going forward!!!

That's about it for Gunge Ink!  Join us today!  OH no, one more thing---My WINNER for a free tuition to the class is Sara Schilling who won the spot out of my newsletter signups!  Congrats Sara!

More info and to register, click here:  GRUNGE INK

On to the next update:)

How to Draw Lip Digitally!

I've been thinking about doing some new things lately, you know how it is in the New Year...your mind races with all sorts of amazing ideas and your spirit is renewed with the energy driven by possibilities....well a couple months ago I bought a new drawing tablet with the idea of working on some stencils for a company...and I did do some designs but nothing was coming to me that we could use for a set.  I'm still chewing on it. I think I have stencil block for some reason.

While chewing on ideas, I started playing around with photoshop, doing some designs..but I had more ideas just not the time to make them happen until, well, the New Year appeared and all of a sudden I decided to turn a new leaf and just do what had been on my mind.

One of the ideas is to share more tutorials here on the blog, hopefully weekly in some way, shape or form.  I still have some of my reactionary ways hovering inside of me...I'm trying to move to a more proactive self but that's still a work in progress. By that, I mean, I'm not ready to say that we are going to have a Tutorial Tuesday here and I already have a years worth of tutey's planned...but I did pencil in some ideas into my trusty new planner...and today is the first of them.
whooohooo:)))

Here is a short tutorial on drawing lips digitally using the program Sketchbook Pro.  I am VERY new to it...like I've had it about 2 weeks and used it about 4 times, so while I don't know everything about it, I have pressed a bazillion buttons and know basically how it works.
The cool thing is I can see potential for new classes and also simply a great way to practice drawing and design.
Maybe once I just let go and try new things, my original purpose for the program (to design stencils) will flow more easily.

All right, here ya go...hope you enjoy!
