Life Book 2017-Big Announcement and GIVEAWAY!!

UPDATED:   Entries are now closed for the giveaway but please check out the post to read more about Lifebook 2017.

To see who won the class, please stop by this POST for the big reveal!

Hello everyone!

I have some wonderful &  exciting news! I am going to be teaching on Life Book 2017 !!!  This will be my second time teaching—I was a part of the first Life Book inception several years ago and I am sooooo thrilled to be back again in 2017!

And even MORE exciting news is that I can give away 1 space on this amazing year long art course! Keep reading if you want to find out more about Life Book 2017  and if you want to find out how you can win a spot! :)

First let me tell you a bit more about Life Book in case you haven't heard about it yet!
“Life Book, a celebration and honouring of YOU” is a year-long mixed media art class organized by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts.

Tam is joined by 22 incredible art teachers who are all gearing up to share their mixed media techniques, tips and tricks with YOU! Themed around self-development and healing, you’ll be creating several loose mixed media art journal pages per month which by the end of the year you will bind into a glorious journal (a Life Book)! You will have a wonderful keepsake that you can treasure for the rest of your life!

You can find out a lot more about this wildly popular course (it has been joined by over 12500+ people in the past!) by clicking HERE.

I haven't fully developed my class idea yet, but to get a better idea on what some of my art journal pages/sketches look like for those of you who are new to my art, take a look at these examples here or take a peek at my Etsy Shop:

(BTW...Here are links to some of my Favorite Journals NOTE-Life Book  projects typically are created on LOOSE papers you bind into your own journal with a specific size water color or mixed paper  at the end of the year. But if you want to just go ahead and put all of your work in one pre-made journal, these would be my recommendations).

   Dylusions Journal Large

Dylusions Journal Square

Strathmore Visual Journal (mixed media)

Registration opens on October 3rd 2016 and the class begins on January 1st 2017.
So if you want to start the year with a fabulous creative BANG and spend 2017 with a wonderful creative community of like-minded souls, learning more about art and how to be kinder and more loving towards yourself, be sure to join once registration opens! :) Keep this page bookmarked so that you can sign up the moment it goes on sale! :)
Now then, onto the give-away and blog hop! :)

I can give away 1 space on Life Book 2017 to 1 lucky winner, yay! :) And if you follow the blog hop (see below for links and dates) you can up your chances of winning a space by entering all the other give-aways also! :)

How to enter the give-away:

I love Life Book, I love Tam, I love you too Jodi, have taken many of your classes :) I love all the teachers she has. It is my go to every week where I learn new things, but most of all, enjoy some 'me' time. I have been part of Life Book since it started, maybe this is my turn for a freebe, but who knows, will not stop me signing up each year.

I started art journaling in 2015 after losing one of my adult children. Productive, healing way to work through the grief! When someone suggested LB 2015 as a way to grow, i jumped at it! I so enjoyed the year of growth and learning. I am in a divorce situation and am not able to afford to join LB 2017 but would really love the opportunity to continue my growth both as an artist and in my healing practice.

I am smitten with your work. I think I found you on Etsy this summer. So I was excited to see your name pop up in this list for 2017. Lifebook is a great class. I had access in 2015 but was unable to complete it all due to personal circumstances. I would love to get back to it in 2017. It opened my eyes to a definite deep seated love of mixed media. Your work in particular speaks volumes to me. I did sign up for your newsletter, because I would love to take a class with you specifically! Thank you for your generous sharing. Enjoy the day! Erin

SuseADoodle said...

why do I want to be part of Lifebook 2017? Well, the weekly prompting and teaching from this awesome set of teachers will help me get into a "practice" of art -- a habit designed to bring tranquility and calm to my roller coaster life. I want to win a seat since that is the only way I can participate in 2017 **sigh** thanks for the opportunity!

How awesome. I would love to join Life Book next year; 2015 and 2016 have been a challenge but my art commissions are blossoming. I'd like to pursue other mediums, and Life book seems to be a great way to try a variety of styles.

My comment is longer than most, but I really want to share with you how important Lifebook is to me.....
My life today is far different from 5 years ago.... Five years ago I was busy, loved my job, successful in my career, involved with my kids' school and activities, enjoyed walking and exploring, and looking forward to the next phase of life. December 2010 I began having abdominal pain. I walked around my house for 2 months, telling my kids they were giving me an ulcer. For the next 6 months I continued to get more and more sick. While the doctors were trying to figure out what was wrong, my daughter was in her first year of college, my son a sophomore in high school. Over the next 2 years I was diagnosed with a rare syndrome, had 3 major surgeries, 8 "procedures", and met with doctors from both Mayo Clinic- Scottsdale, and Cleveland Clinic. I continued to work during all of this, even getting a promotion while I was recovering from bypass surgery. I ran a team of computer engineers that supported very important scientists, making a real difference in our country, from a hospital bed.
One day I thought I was feeling well, so I got the grand idea to take my dogs to the park. I was going to take a picture to send to my husband, showing him I was feeling good. One dog got spooked and ran across a semi-busy street. As just a reaction I ran after her..... and passed out while running, in the middle of the street. I ended up with a small scratch on one knee, small scratch on one hand, and most of the bones in my face broken, and a traumatic brain injury. After 2 years of people telling me to go on disability and me fighting it, a dog makes me have to leave.
I'm telling you all of this, because I want to let all of the instructors and artists affiliated with Lifebook how much it means to me. I am dealing with remaining TBI issues and intense chronic pain-- every day. To go from being very active, intelligent, involved, to not being able to add 2+2 in my head hit me hard. Lifebook has helped me work through my issues, my deep depression, and begin to figure out who the 2.0 model of Brenda is.
Thank you for sharing your gift. Thank you for showing me new ways to use my brain. Thank you for helping me like myself again.

Brenda said...

I shared on Pinterest and Twitter. I've also signed up for your newsletter. I'm your newest fan, and can't wait to learn from you! Thank you for this second chance in the drawing.

I Just learned about life book this month Tam was a guest teacher for A year of healing. I was blown away by her workshop and all she shared about Nonviolent communication. I have been hopping around on the teacher blogs and sites I am loving what you have to say about art. How it's messy fun and healing. Life book has been coming up over and over this past month. Even people I didn't know at Michael's Craft Stores were talking about life book. Really I need to be apart of it this year. Thank you for the chance to win a spot it would be amazing!

I would love to win a slot for Life Book 2017 in order to study with so many amazing artists. I have little confidence in my ability and if I understand correctly, building self-confidence and freeing students to express themselves artistically is the main goal of Life Book.

Like the other ladies I would love to win. Each of us has a different reason which is amazing to read. I am disabled senior on a fixed income and am no longer able to work. Every year I have wanted to take the class and my brain says do it and the bank account say no way. Not happening. The artists on this LifeBook are amazing and most of them I have followed and this would just be the most amazing experience. I would love to win and I know I wouldn't be disappointed. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to the others.

I have been part of Life book for the first time this year and it is more amazing than I ever could have imagined. Even when I have been unable to complete the lesson for that week it has encouraged me to draw daily and to keep going with my art. The posts from the facebook group have filled my news feed with the beauty and the positivity that I needed to get through a very difficult year. The welcoming community that makes up Lifebook is something I need in my life and for all these reasons above I want to be part of Lifebook in 2017.
