Soul Food and Something for YOUR Soul....

It's Monday and I have MORE exciting news for you and a special opportunity for you to win something BIG again this week. My goodness, I'm starting to feel like Oprah lately..lol  well, not exactly that amazing but close, at least in my opinion!  What's the big news you say??

I will be one of the 'Sous-Chefs' cooking up
some artsy goodness for you in this NEW collaborative class that begins in 2014!!!

Look at that line up of artists and instructors! The diversity of this group is quite stellar, you'll have exposure to projects and lessons that include painting, drawing, collage, jewelry making, portraits, journaling, doodling and much more....yes much MORE....

The MORE includes RECIPES that each of the instructors will share with you.   Each teacher will be doing a step out on one of their favorite recipes that feeds their soul...after all that is the theme of this project!  Nourishment, empowerment, healthy, tasty, educational, and most of all, inspirational.

This is the 3rd collaborative project I've participated in and I have to say, working with such an amazing group number one is an honor but even more so for the students, it's a TREMENDOUS value as you get exposure to so many different teachers all for one price and weekly lessons to spur your creativity all year long.  The price of each lesson is around 5.00.  Wow.  You can't beat that!!  Registration is now open and there even is a payment plan.

Here's a sneak peek at just some of the sous chefs:

My friends and family are my main "soul foods". I couldn't exist without their constant love and support. Creativity is my next favorite food! It is such a wonderful feeling to let out all your hopes, dreams and frustrations and create something beautiful and meaningful!

Art feeds my soul. Creating and seeing how my creations make people smile. Nature also feeds my soul, the beauty of it, colors, shapes, sizes are just inspiring. My friends and family feed my soul. They bring happiness and joy to my life.

My husband and best friend (Saranne) are my major soul foods. Without them I would be lost as they are the road to my creative nature. I love what they bring out in me and that enable my creativity. Thank you for the chance to participate in one of your wonderful journeys.

Hi Jodi! My 2 rescue dogs feed me and my creative side! They are always in the same room with me and follow me everywhere. Their consistent, deep down love and appreciation reminds me of how we need to treat each other on a daily basis. I want to come back as a family pet!

What a wonderful contest Jodi :) Thank you for your generosity. What feeds my soul? My family and friends. My friends are family and several family members are my friends and I love that! I love to make personal cards, mini albums, altered boxes etc for my family and friends it make them happy which in turn make me happy. Another thing that feeds my soul is seeing or hearing about acts of kindness. It truly warms my heart.

My animals(five cats two dogs) fill my soul with the nourishment I crave most. Which then feeds into my creative cravings- which I quell with a pencil or a paintbrush, some paint.....

Color and design feeds my soul. Each and better yet, both, get my juices flowing and if I'm not already there, I make a bee line for the artroom.

The most important soul "joy" in my life is my family, friends, and my animals. (3 doggies, 9 chickens, 1 african grey parrot) However - as joyful as they can be...I am probably more nourished and fed by creativity and art. Pretty much of any kind. Paint - glue...color and goo!!! They tend to produce peace and calmness in my somewhat "over-thinking" brain. I have been walking through 3 of Jodi's classes recently and find that the layering of techniques and color are freeing and calming to my soul.

so many things feed my soul and many feed it without me even realising it but mainly it is my family, nature - studying the small things like the texture of a leaf or seed pod, colour, watching other artists, allowing myself to feel I can actually just play and even my illness has taught me I have to change constantly what I can and can't achieve anymore so I am always trying to adapt which keeps it interesting xx

of course my family and my friends feed my soul. but art has had an amazing effect on my life. 21 years ago i tried to commit suicide and the two things that helped to get me out of my six week mental hospital stay were art and letters from my kids. that was the first time art rescued me. the second time was while working in surgery for 20 years i fell at work. 4 cervical fusions later left me disabled. i took a suzi blu class and thru her i met elena the founder of charity wings. a light bulb went off, i could volunteer there and do something good in this world besides lay in bed, take pain pills, and drool. that was 3 years ago, i am now the assistant donation coordinator, so to say the least art has been a huge fuel to my soul. it still is everyday. this is an amazing opportunity to take an incredible class, my soul would be full. so many great teachers. thank you so much for this opportunity. xoxox

This summer playing with colors and stitched after that is what my soul food is. I love to have dirty hands from colors, I'm super exited when my kids are in beds and I could play. I even don't watch TV...the best think is I could found a little time late at night every day, so I do this. But in the morning I want to continue......almost my new addiction. But it's fun, and chocolate free. And when I could buy myself a new pot of paint, better then new shoes. It’s so nice to bring at home something artsy new.

When the world feels dark and dreary my dog, Juno, makes the difference. She is my 130lb Mastiff and I refer to her as my soul puppy (akin to having a soulmate). Morning walks along the beach give me time to slough off the sleepiness and prepare my mind and body for the upcoming day. Lastly (and most importantly!) my son who at 3 was diagnosed with autism is now getting ready for his first year at high school. Hanging out with him, watching the world through his eyes, is my happy place.
