Hello Friends!
Lots of exciting things going on in the studio over the last few weeks, just wanted to share some of my projects and hope that you get inspired by them.
I worked on a several Valentine's Day related art for Dreaming in Color (aka the new company Splash of Color), Luminarte, maker of Twinkling H20's, Silk Acrylic Glazes , for a special article "The Heart of Art". This company has the most awesome, colorful, brilliant paint and mixed media supplies as well as scrap booking materials that you have ever wanted to try.
Take a look at some of the juicy work I created for the article:
A 3 page altered journal using Silks Glazes, Twinkling H2)s, and scrap booking papers from Splash of color.
Of course love is in the air this month all around us and I tried to convey my heartfelt feelings in my art. Using a LOVE stencil, pearl pens paint and more, designed this dynamic piece.
The entire article can be found at Scrapbooking.com
But first stop by and take a look at the newsletter from Splash of Color that features a lot of my artwork, in addition to having links to all these AMAZING products I used and MORE...more juiciness, more shimmer, more depth achieved with using these supplies in your art and crafts then you can imagine. Whatever your heART desires, can be created with these amazing supplies.
Did I mention in this newsletter there is a coupon for product from Splash of color? Click the link to the newsletter to read about the new products and you'll find the coupon code at the end.
In other news....Registration is now open for my project based class coming up in March over at Creative Workshops called "Behind You", where we will be creating a portrait on a journal page using a version of the old masters grisaille method. This is the first class of my upcoming series of "budget minded" classes, which will be shorter in length (about 2-3 hours) but still jam packed full of content.
*Note, this is re-released project from my lesson Lifebook 2012.
BONUS register now and save $$$ The class will be only 24.00 with an early registration!
I have to say my students are continually inspiring me to dream up new projects, go down different roads as an artist and just simply evolve. What's even better is seeing the students evolve as well as artists. While my "Twinks on Yupo" paper class has wrapped up, take a look at some of the projects we did on my "Show and Twink Day" blog post in January.

For my last demo in class I created this abstract piece in a "Paint A Long" video.
I will be re-releasing this class for a second time near the end of March so be sure to stay tuned on more information on that! I promise, you will be amazed at the art you can create using Twinkling H20's on Yupo paper.
With all my classes and articles I've been working on (stay tuned for a new article in March in Cloth Paper Scissors!!) I haven't had time to list too many things in my shop but I do have a SWEET DEAL for you if you had your eye on something special.
From now through February 14th, 2013, enjoy FREE (DOMESTIC) SHIPPING when using coupon code: LOVE2013
Last but not least, I will be in Saluda, NC the first weekend in March for an extra special weekend of mixed media classes at the uber cool, Random Arts.
I'll be doing two different classes:
Graffiti Cityscapes
And
Pretty Little Portraits
For more information on the classes, please contact Jane at Random Arts! I hope to see you there!
I know I gush a lot about teaching, but there really is something incredible about not only being a lover of art, but to be able to create something with your heart, mind and own two hands. My goal is to continue to spread the creative love for as long as I possibly can, hopefully forever. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
Until we meet again, I hope you see the art to life...in life's every day moments and things. Observe and enjoy the wonder that is around you.
Jodi
