Crescendoh....Thank you for allowing me to share my story

"What's Next"

Today launches my week over at the amazing website Jenny Doh and team have created, Crescendoh.
When I first read about her new project, I just knew I really wanted to be a part of it in some way.  For those of you who have followed my blog or know me personally, you know that the last few years have been quite a journey for me.  I've had extreme highs which I've celebrated and have put me on top of the world, and I've had extreme lows that have made me cry myself to sleep and wish I would not wake up again.   Moving to North Carolina has been a mixed blessing. I know it's exactly where I'm supposed to be for many reasons.  It's also has been a place where I've learned many hard lessons in life and have had to do them with very little support system around me.   Support from a far, but not near me.   What was near me was my children and a few friends, and my art which consoled me.

July 21, 2006, was the day that my old life ended....

Read how Art has Saved me, not only saved me, but allowed me to grow and become the person I am today and it is allowing me to become the person that shows others that no matter what you are facing, you can get through this.  Find something that allows you to refocus your energy into something positive.  Maybe it's not art, maybe it's exercise, sports, photography, singing, playing piano...whatever it is, there's a world out there that can accept those emotions you are feeling and help you move on.   I'm not only moving on, I'm moving forward.

Thank you Jenny for having me be a part of this community you've created. I'm honored to join you in your new endeavor. It really is about "Creative Passion,  Authentic Community, Focused Compassion."

It is so nice to have more of the story and to see where you are coming from. Thanks for sharing. I am sure there are many, many (including me) who will find your story uplifting.

Jodi, I came across your website by accident a couple of weeks ago. Your art speaks to me and I want to have it in me to paint like you. I know it's there but I am so new at painting that I still hold myself back. Everyday, I open your website so I can listen to the beautiful song on your artistic journaling video. What is the name of it. I love it! So you can imagine that today, I opened your site and found your story. A sad story I know so well. But, "Art" one day at a time!..."Healing" one day at a time!...the beautiful beginning! I feel like I know you and it feels good. You are an inspiration and I hope that one day we will meet. Until then, thank you for your art and your heart.

Hi Jodi,
Quite interesting to know more of the story. I didn't realize we met so soon after the fire. You are a strong woman! Proud of you and all the strength you show.

Kat-the best advice I can give you is to just do it every day, and do it without expectations. Create beautiful backgrounds and add your compositions as they become apparent to you--which may be months down the road. You'll find your rhythm with repetition and practice. In the meantime, you'll heal and enjoy the process.

The name of the group is Eden's Bridge:

and the song is "The One You Left Behind".

Jeanne and Nanette, love you both much. You all have been a part of my healing process in your friendship and inspiration. xoxo

Jodi~
I just read your story and wanted to share with you how deeply it touched my soul. I had picked up little bits and pieces over the years but never had it all layed before me in such a beautiful way!

You are not only a talented artist, but writer as well. I love reading your words. Please don't ever stop touching us and helping us to feel something through your art and words. You mean a lot to me. I still have the wonderful art box, which I open to breathe in the sweet smell now and then. Blessings dear heart, Katie

It's a beautiful story. One which I know is still being written. You are a child of God and are loved. I will pray that you recognize that perfect love in the peace you feel with your art. What a gift He has given you to help soothe your soul.
