His Name is Art

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I took a little break with my sons (as requested) and friends and visited Myrtle Beach. We took in some good food and some scary sights with the Myrtle Beach Halloween Costume party at Broadway at the Beach (Pictures of some cool costumes tomorrow) which was fun. I didn't dress up though. I remember there was a time when I would not MISS out on dressing up for Halloween and partying like it was 1999, but, that was way back when. I think I'm going to start back up though. It used to be so much fun planning, creating and devising costumes with my friends--so much fun, I can barely remember it all! Anyway, I want to get back into the spirit of the holidays. I feel like I've lacked that lately. For a long lately!

This is my new work and I really love the tree on it that I painted. That's probably my favorite part. That water mark is where I glazed over the top and it really isn't red--I guess it's my scanner--it's actually orange and it is supposed to blend in like an overlay of color. Anywhoo--this goes with my piece Retreat which Jane has now--but I do have a couple of prints left. I'm trying to work more in collections and this is going to be a part of my Peaceful and Serenity collection. I have all of two pieces in that collection...LOL...but you gotta start somewhere.

Good news --didn't get screwed on the shipping for my last piece..LOL....Laura thought that would make a good t-shirt! :) Haha...she had me laughing with her comment! You guys are the best. Christy asked how my etsy shop was going--and it's going good--slow but steady, between that and a couple of custom orders plus what a couple people have bought that I didn't list, I'm doing pretty good. I wish for more sales, but it's hard to sling out the pieces. Most take several days to finish if not weeks, so I can only list so much a week which is a challenge in an of itself. I'm loving it, and like so many have remarked lately, I've really channeled so many of my frustrations into my new love....his name is Art.
So, next time what's his face calls and harasses me about who I'm going with (and that's putting it in g-terms to what he really says to me...grrrr c&^%$#!***), I'm going to tell him the truth...his name is ART. And he's good to me. Quiet, forgiving, challenges me to be better and better everyday, he gives back to me and doesn't take from me, he is there for me and he makes me smile. What a difference as to how things used to be.

Art, I love you.

Glad to hear you are selling. I think in general since Etsy is so big and there are thousands of sellers if we sell anything...we're doing good :-) I've read on the forums there are some sellers that have been on for months and haven't sold anything.

Oh, Lucy, I know I've said this before ~ but that is my all time favorite piece of yours. I love the colors you used and that bicycle. Beautiful and peaceful!

I love the qualities your new significant other, ART, has. Sounds like a perfect relationship to me!! Who could ask for more? LOL!
