OOPS, She Spilled it AGAIN!

I've been a bad blogger lately, not a whole lot of blogworthy news to report lately unless you all want to know about the sh*tload of car problems I've been having! Oh, you do?? Pull up a seat, grab a cup of coffee (don' t spill) and we'll chat a bit. I can tell you that I probably could change a tire if I had to after watching it twice this week being performed on "Betsy". Let's hope it doesn' t come down to that again anytime soon though!!!

As far as my artwork goes this week...this is pretty much it. I scanned this piece something like 6 times and I couldn't get the color right because I couldn't close the lid entirely which I think by not being able to do so, it creates shadows and incorrect coloring. The post pics reflect the right side, the left and the before I messed up the lettering view!

The actual picture, the orange is brighter, the blue is darker and a bit brighter, and there isn't a shadow on the left edge nor above the cup. GRRRRRRR

I tried embossing the letters and let's just say, I need adult supervision doing it going forward. LOL

I felt that this view needed more depth and the lettering just melded in too much so I bring out my new embossing supplies, I started at the bottom for some reason...which made sense at the time but escapes me by now....and basically I got powder everywhere..LOL It's definitely a technique I want to master so I will have to keep trying and plugging away.
Technique & supplies: used for this piece: found stamps (bottle tops, corragated cardboard, paint pens, acrylics markers, metallic pens, and embossing powders.
My new "technique" (new to me) is to collage a drawing (thus you have the spilled coffee and coffee flowing from the coffee pot. I didn't cut much of the paper, most is torn and certain colors used to create depth or design. I highlighted some areas with watercolor crayons (new favorite toy).
What is this about?? Well to me, the coffee is symbolic to my stimulant to create, my catalyst, my motivator; and the pot is my "brain" constantly pouring more ideas into my cup....yet at times, everything spills over, art, life, home, work, family.....where does one end and the other begin?? Does it really matter?? They are all necessary for us to be fullfilled, inspired, sustained, loved...but how often do we just topple over and let it spillout out frustration?? Often for me! Juggle, juggle, juggle. Spill, spill, spill....it's fun, its frustrating, it's fullfilling, its depressing, it's exhuberating, it's exhausting...oh wait...it's just life! :)

Wow, another great collage! Guess it's fitting that you "spilled" the embossing powder on this piece. :)

I just couldn't believe it when I saw your latest piece. Spilling over has always been one of my favorite terms to describe how I feel 95% of the time. Sometimes people say they feel empty, but I never do. I always feel too full and like I'm spilling over...all over the table, pouring out way toO much of myself. It's good and it isn't. Good if there are plenty of people around to receive me, but bad if I feel like I have nothing to flow into. I just love seeing your new pieces and how they make me think!

You did great on your embossing! The words really stick out. I like it! My mermaid came the other day ~ She's spectacular and I really like the altered mini clipboard too. Yeah me! As soon as I get used to the new baby in the house, I'm going to get her hung up and post a picture, of course. I'm so tickled to have her. Thank you!
Ugh, car problems, so sorry!

Another one I love. I can relate to the spilling over theme, and I adore coffee. I am excited about the swap!
