Contest---check it out! Win a gift certificate to my Etsy shop

As if I need another project to dig into ....art duty calls and I must get ready for my next show. I'm looking for ideas for a cool color combo for Fall to be a companion piece for my latest work, "All I Ever Wanted".

What do you have to do?

Just choose your a favorite combo of 2-3 colors and if your inspiring color theme strikes my fancy enough to pick it for my next large work, you can win a 25.00 gift certificate to my etsy shop!

I need all the inspiration I can get after chasing my tale for the last couple of months trying to keep up with projects and other family life things so play along if you will!

Ohhhhh hey....I taught my first (in person) class on Wednesday at Swank Hand Made Market in Southern Pines, NC!! Whoooohooooo. I can't tell you how nervous I was but for a newbie, I think I did fairly well, I had very good feedback from the students, but the best part and the most gratifying part was seeing the students enjoy themselves as they learned new things. It's inspired ME to do even better for my next class. I already have some different ideas on how to present some of my tips and techniques. I guess that's what life is all about....learning as we go and growing from what we learn :)

Here's a peak at the class, "Magical Mixed Media Backgrounds".
If there is anything I've learned this year, it's that anything is truly possible if you simply believe and then act on your dreams. While it may not happen overnight, things do eventually come together with faith!

Till next time!

With FALL as one of my favorite seasons...my suggestions are Orange, Olive & Brown. Earthtone favorites! ~ Michelle Sutter

Jodi!
My 'color vote' would be for some juicy Quinacridone Crimson w/ Quin. Nickle Azo Gold highlighted with Interference Green (fine) *yum!*

The class was AWEsome (you, too!) -- teaching will be an easy transition for you! Thanks for all the great ideas (not to mention, the FAB photos!)

Funny you posted a photo of an orange painting, because I would suggest orange. Orange and brown (and sage green or gold) for fall. Orange and pink for summer. Orange and black for Halloween. Just not orange and navy, because that's the Chicago Bears' colors and I'm a Packer fan! (not that I'm suggesting gold and green)

Congrats on the class! Sounds like fun :D

I seem to migrate to these colors a lot plus they fit Fall & your theme:
Burgundy, dark green & gold

How about olive green, gold, and either burnt orange or terra cotta?

This thread has been great for all of us to get ideas! I'm glad you posted it. As for my suggestion, I think you should go a little wild and use two complementary colors, chartreuse and lavender. Purple shades are so in this fall. Can't wait to see your choice!

Hi. First time here :)

I love a lot of colors, but I think an interesting and unique combo for fall would be, maroon, silver, and royal purple.

I am a traditionalist-I would go with orange, green, and gold!

I love darker shades of greens, browns and reds in the fall. Such as Forest Green, with a Rusty Red color and maybe a Deep Brown or a Tan Brown to offset the darker colors of green and red.
