...one thing we all have in common is neighbors, friends, and our community big or small. Imagine if all the houses we drive by or walk towards had personalities as big as the people that reside in them. If only the siding could talk and the doors opened to an imaginary world that you create. The houses, trees and flowers surely would have stories to tell, perhaps of love and friendship, adventure, and maybe even a little chaos. It all is a matter of perspective, and that perspective will come from you, as you create with me your own “Funky Little Beach Scapes”. When I say little, that is just a term of endearment. I encourage you to create a painting in a scale as grand as you care too. It’s a ‘miniature’ world you will be bringing to life full of color, doodles, texture, layers and more. *We will be working on 2 paintings 16 x 20 or larger. **This is an advanced version where we will get to work on our Funky Little Beach Scapes over 1 1/2 days which will be plenty of time to really fill your paintings with tons of colorful details, quirky elements, whimsical words, and doodles galore!

Join me for an amazing 3 days of absolutely amazing and fun workshops in the picturesque town of Saluda, NC. Back for the 4th year in a row at Random Arts, I'm looking forward to introducing two NEW workshops along with my hugely popular Grunge Ink class.
Dates: September 25th-27th
What can I say other than you will have tons of fun getting messy with inks, acrylics and layering sheer and opaque washes of all the above on Yupo paper. We will add, subtract, stencil, scrape and do all sorts of amazing things leading up to creating 3-4 abstract pieces (maybe more) on this unique substrate.
New Class! Wild flowers will be blooming in September during our 1 day action packed workshops. Inspired by several journal pages I completed, this class is a great example of how you can go from journal to a larger painting by making just a few alterations. Painting, scraping, layering, glazing, collage and more. We will work discuss working with patterns, building up color intensity and layering, creating your own stamps and mark making tools, and incorporate writing into the mix.
